(Things you should have learned in kindergarten)
In order to help those that are new to the scene, or have never been to a public play party, here are some Rules of Etiquette to keep in mind:
- Always ask before you touch. Not only does this mean a person, but possessions as well. Never use a tool, instrument, or toy without asking the owner first.
- Refrain from loud talking during a scene. If you wish to carry on a conversation, please exit the play area or talk in whispers. Disruptions during a scene are very much frowned upon.
- Never interrupt or interfere with a scene. If you are concerned or if you believe that one of the participants is in danger, notify the host or a designated Dungeon Monitor (DM) immediately. If you just don’t like the scene, walk away.
- If you have a question about a particular scene, please ask either a DM or, the participants after the scene is over.
- If you have to move a piece of furniture, ASK a DM first. Equipment is set the way it is to maximize the space and safety. When you are done using and cleaning the equipment/furniture to accommodate your scene, please ask the DM to put it back in its original position for the next person.
- Be cognizant of the time that you’ve been using a play station. Others wish to play as well.
- Wipe off any equipment used with bio-cleaner after your scene. Pick up any trash that you might have accumulated.
- Remember to be gracious and courteous with everyone that you meet. Common respect for each other is always encouraged.
- Never leave with more than you came with (unless you bought something from one of the vendors). ????
- Be conscious of the time when the party will be ending. We have to be out by 1:00 a.m. – this means scenes must be over by 12:30 a.m. so we have time to put everything away. Be a really good guest and stick around to help us put it all away.
